Two new members suggested a session on legal issues that affect bloggers, so we'll start this meeting with a Q&A with an attorney who blogs and who has practiced internet law. He's gathering information on a variety of blogging topics, and will respond to questions in areas including:
* Who owns your blog if it's hosted on a free service?
* Slander, libel, and blogging -- what you can say; what others can say about you
* Employment law: Can your employer tell you what not to blog about?
* What do you do if someone reprints original material from your blog?
* Privacy issues and anonymous blogging
* What is your liability for comments others post on your blog?
* What every blogger should know about linking; for instance, are you responsible if a link on your site leads to a pirate site, or a porn site?
After the Q&A, we'll have our usual informal discussions about a variety of blog-related and tech-related topics. Please bring laptops and cameras -- and, of course, any new gadgets you'd like to show-and-tell. Maybe someone will have the latest iPhone?
