It was great - and only a block away from me, too. Thanks Raul for getting this going!

I liked the wi-fi, the friendliness of the owner, the beauty of the artwork that is decorating the walls, there was air conditioning so I didn't feel particularly warm. But I agree, some people may feel not very comfortable after dark. I would, however, like to suggest it for July-September if the members are ok with this. Otherwise, I'll try another location. Feedback much appreciated. Thanks, David and Monica for your comments, Carol and Nancy as well for attending.

The Blackwater Cafe is an independent coffee house about 2 blocks from Main & Hastings, an area that some may not feel comfortable meeting in the evening. While we were there, some street people yelled at the doorway, and while we weren't threatened or made to feel unsafe, some will not be comfortable with this venue, particularly after dark, so I think it would be good to meet here in the summer months. It will be cramped for larger meetups. The coffee and food were OK (I had iced coffee).

Blackwater cafe is a good venue in some respects - it's comfortable, cool and the staff is friendly. Lots of drink options, tasty soup, but: not much variety in the way of food (sandwiches and some dessert items mainly).

In what language to write blog? What is your oppinion? As I live in smal country (only 2 million people) 'slovenian internet market' is too small for slovenian language. So I write also in english and sometimes in portugues and serbo-croatian language.

    •  A good idea to try out the new venue. There were only 5 of us, however, so I'm not sure we got a feel for how the place would be when overrun by us some evening.
    •  As the co-organizer (maybe soon to be organizer!) I really enjoyed it. Had a chance to meet with good friends of mine.
