Melbourne Bloggers Meetup

Hi Melbourne Weblogger Meetup Group,

I'm not exactly sure who started this group or what it's done so far but I've been talking about a Melbourne bloggers meetup for years now and never did anything about it. Today I was talking with Alister Cameron (a member of this group) and we thought perhaps it was time to do something.

I went to a Sydney meetup late last year and it was a great night - they really are getting to know each other and are having some fun times. Some are even collaborating on projects - I was jealous and wanted to do something here.

So when we saw this group needed a moderator I signed up and thought I'd put the word out to you that I was hoping we could get together. Hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes - if I am I'm happy to transfer this over to whoever started it up to run.

Alister and I are brainstorming dates and locations - ideally sometime in the next month and somewhere in the CBD - perhaps a bar where we don't need to book anything.

If you have any suggestions let us know by replying to this. Otherwise we'll put a date and place together and get it out to you in the next few days.

I'm Darren Rowse. I'm a blogger on blogs like problogger.net - digital-photography-school.com/blog and others. I'm also one of the founders of the b5media blog network where I work as the guy who heads up blogger training.

I'm married, have one child (9 months old - boy) and live in the north of Melbourne.
