Folks, save the date, Tuesday 7th July 2009!

Why? Because it’s the date for the next edition of the world famous London Bloggers Meetup. I say world famous, it could be, you never know. I haven’t asked everyone to be honest...

So what’s the world go to do with anything you might ask?

Well, this meetup is being sponsored by our good friends at Lastminute.com. They will be releasing exclusive details on the summer promotion they are about to launch and in particular would love to meet with any budding travel writers or keen travellers, so please encourage any of your fellow bloggers or friends who might be interested to register and come along to find out more.

However, if you can’t wait until then to hear more, here are some clues…

How often have you sat day-dreaming at your desk wondering what you’d be doing if you didn’t have to put up with the 9-5 grind? Explore the world? Sample the best of global culture? Make the most of good old Great Britain? Lay on a beach in the baking heat without a care in the world? Meet new and interesting people in places you never knew you would visit? Maybe even doing something completely different and trying your hand as a travel writer? Perhaps you’d do all of these things, if only you had the chance…

Say no more LBM’ers, I hope that has got your imagination running. To recap: Lastminute.com, travel, writing, competition... you get the picture.

Of course there will be the usual blend of blog related chat, networking, fun and frivolities. Oh and Lastminute.com are also going to be buying a few beers, so get yourselves along early and enjoy a nice, cold, thirst quenching beverage (beer, wine, coke, whatever you fancy really). It looks like we might even have an interesting talk too, more details TBC.

Hope to see you all on the 7th !!

Andy

    •  This was a great event and thanks to Andy for organising. This was definitely the most friendly social media event I have been to for a long time and it was great to see a few familiar faces and meet a lot more new people too. See you at the next one.
    •  Interesting meetup. The first LBM meetup for me. Would go again. Simples!
    •  Bar was difficult to move round and name badges would have been great again, but good to see the familiar faces. I am looking forward to the next LBM - thanks again Andy for organising x
    •  One of the most enjoyable LBMs to date!
    •  Odd venue - difficult to circulate.

Great venue, ideal location, interesting group of bloggers, and sweet offer from Lastminute.com
    •  Lastminute job sounds great & Phileas Blog creators were very entertaining
    •  Shame advertised events didn't happen - for the hour I stayed, anyway. The pub venue was a bit of a crush. Free beer was good.
    •  Never been before but compared to the sort of corporate networking I am used to, it had a lot more sparkle . It was full of so many interesting professional people but with really fascinating backgrounds . I learned a lot and met lots of new contacts and came away with idea. A very pleasant evening . I will definitely come again.
    •  Great to meet new faces!
    •  Really great meet up! Interesting chat from Edd and of course a comp always goes down well!
    •  Enjoyed the Pinot Grigio Rose courtesy of Last Minute and meeting a few new faces from Blooker Prize, We Are Social and more. Great place to network. Would be great to more easily work out who is going in advance without having to click through to every profile if that's an option on here...
    •  Another enjoyable event. I've just put a few pics up.
    •  It was my first LBM, and I got what I expected: meeting some people I already know, getting to meet people I knew digitally, and actually met new people!
    •  Really interesting friendly people, all keen to share blogging info and advice and talk about the subjects they blog about. Huge variety of subjects - and if you've got a room full of people who write about things it's no wonder, really, that they've got a few things to say! I couldn't stay till the end so I bet I lost out on the prize draw!
