Meetups shine a light on women in technology

The NY Tech Meetup, along with Girl Develop It and Control Group, has announced the formation of the Coalition for Women in Technology.

“The mission of the Coalition is to gather, coordinate, and amplify the work of organizations throughout NYC that provide opportunities for women and girls to engage and lead in the technology industry through education, networking, mentorship, and career development.”

A number of founding members are already making a difference for women in technology. We’re excited to watch this grow!

Not in New York? You may want to look up the Women who Code (SF) Meetup Group in San Francisco! This Meetup is over 3,000 Members strong, and hosts a wide array of study programs as well as Lightning Talks; Meetups geared towards tech experts and ‘non-coding women’ alike.

In the windy city, you can find the Chicago Women Developers Meetup learning Javascript together at a Hack night.

Girl Develop It currently hosts Meetup Groups across the U.S. and Canada, as well as Australia. Check out their chapters here, and click on the closest city to discover a Meetup Group near you.

Or check out a list of Meetup Groups promoting Women in Technology across the globe. Let’s hear it for girls in tech!
